Celebrating Home Recipes: Stoneware Tips

Stoneware Tips

Care Instructions:
  1. Our stoneware is made of clay and water. However, our stoneware is glazed and will never discolor like a pizza stone and is dishwasher safe. With the glazing it is easy clean up …however, there is a ring on the bottom that is not glazed, so never allow your stoneware to soak in a sink of dishes for an extended amount of time. You may fill your stoneware & set on counter, but don’t have it soak in sink of water.
  2. Each piece is hand-painted by highly skilled and trained craftsmen therefore no two pieces are identical, each is a unique work of art – even our solid colored pieces are hand-dipped in color and then hand-finished for a truly superior finish.
  3. High temperature firing to 2,100 degrees increases durability which help to prevent chipping and provides the highest and most durable quality stoneware pieces.
  4. We guarantee quality and satisfaction, providing a one-year replacement warranty to cover all types of manufacturing defects with every piece of stoneware that we offer. Please fill out your warranty card when you receive your stoneware pieces and file with your receipt in your recipe box should you ever need it. If there is a defect, you will know within your first three times of using your stoneware, so please, bake in it within a couple weeks of receiving it.
  5. Wait to wash your stoneware until it is completely cooled and is at room temperature for a couple hours.  Placing your hot stoneware in cold water causes stress cracking. Your stoneware will be an heirloom if you follow these tips and it will save you time and money in the kitchen.
  6. When going from the refrigerator to the oven allow the stoneware to warm to room tempature before placing in oven.
  7. Thawed meat first before you place it into your stoneware.
  8. Never put your stoneware in a preheated oven. It's causes stress cracks in your stoneware.
  9. Don't take your stoneware out of the oven and put the lid in the sink. Most sinks are COLD....this puts the lid in shock and causes stress cracks.
  10. DO NOT USE STONEWARE ON STOVE TOP!!!  Placing stoneware on a hot stove top can cause cracks.
Remember your stoneware goes in the microwave, oven, dishwasher, freezer, or refrigerator. Please do not put it on the stove…needs to bake evenly.

Tips

  1.  You can use the bean pot for a roast, potatoes and carrots for that quick easy family dinner, or a ham, turkey breast; a serving bowl to keep the mashed potatoes hot, a soup tureen, and even an ice bucket for that next party.
  2. The stoneware holds the heat for 3 to 4 hours so it is the perfect thing for todays busy families.  If everyone is not home to eat together, leave your bean pot on the counter for others to eat as they arrive home, last one to eat puts the leftovers in the refrigerator.
  3. The stoneware can also be used for cold foods.  When a potatoe or pasta salad is chilled in your stoneware in the refrigerator overnight, it will stay cold for 2-3 hours. This is a wonderful feature when taking a dish to a family gathering or a church dinner.
  4. It cooks evenly, whether in the microwave or oven. Your food will taste better because it’s not overcooked. More nutrients will be retained and that means eating healthier.
  5. Sometimes we are limited on time and “Deli” or “Carry Out” looks great in our stoneware, your family and friends will think you are “Betty Crocker”.
  6. Any recipe you cook in the crock pot, you can cook in the Bean Pot. When your crock pot recipe says to cook on low for 8 hours, it will only take 2 hours at 325 degrees in your Bean Pot. For a crock pot on high for 3 hours it will take only 1 ½ hours at 325 degrees in your Bean Pot!!!
Happy Cooking!!
