Celebrating Home Recipes: Time Saving Tips

Time Saving Tips

Saving Time, leaves more time for enjoying your family!

  • A great time saver tip is to brown 4-5 lbs of ground beef at one time (this can be done in your Celebrating Home Bean Pot). Then freeze the cooked ground beef in one pound portions.   When you need ground beef in a soup or main dish, just take out of the freezer and you are ready to go.

  • You can prepare bacon well ahead of time for use in a variety of recipes. I like to cook up extra bacon on the weekend as I’m making bacon for breakfast.   I use the microwave to cook the bacon with paper towels placed between the layers of bacon; no mess or stove to clean – and it’s just as crispy as frying!
  • Cook bacon in batches, crumble and freeze. It lasts up to six months in the freezer. Convenient for making Great Baked Beans and many other dishes!

  •  I never peel potatoes, especially if a recipe calls for them to be thinly sliced.  Slice them with the peeling on, it add nutrition.
